Product piracy is a major issue in Italy which remains a hub in the global economy for counterfeit goods. Over many years we have established solid relationships with the various anti-piracy pools operating with the Italian criminal courts helping our clients to cooperate and support prosecutors and the police in their fight against counterfeiting.

We were one the first European firms to use custom monitoring and border detentions as important tools in major IP enforcement strategies. For over 20 years we have successfully represented many multinational businesses across a wide spectrum of industries shaping the case law on vital aspects of counterfeit law. Our team has unrivalled experience in dealing with custom officers and in handling the subsequent criminal and civil proceedings originating from border detention.

Recent notable cases:

Representing a world-leading player in the automotive sector in all criminal and civil proceedings originating from custom monitoring reports

Assisting the entity responsible for the commercial organization of the most famous motor racing series in the registration of the brand with the relevant Customs Authority and with all subsequent procedures for seizing and destroying infringing products

Representing a Dutch company, leader in the development and design of bespoke campaigns, in a custom procedure for seizing products infringing registered designs
